Welcome to the Aegis DM Toolkit ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Aegis DM Toolkit regarding your use of our tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) tools and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.
To access features such as cloud saves, campaign management, character sheets, and multiplayer session hosting, you must create an account via Firebase Authentication. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You accept responsibility for all activities under your account.
Aegis DM Toolkit operates on a hybrid architecture to maximize privacy and speed.
4.1 Text Data (Cloud): You retain ownership of text-based content you create (campaign notes, statblocks, character sheets, timeline events, homebrew content, etc.). By saving text data, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to securely store and transmit that data strictly for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your players.
4.2 Media Assets (Local-First with Session Sharing): Your original, full-resolution media files (map images, video maps, token art, soundboard audio, custom dice textures) are saved and processed within your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your personal device. We do not upload or permanently host your original media files on our servers.
When you use real-time multiplayer features (such as the VTT, TV Display, or Player Companion), the Service may create temporary, compressed, lower-resolution representations of your images and transmit them through our cloud database (Firebase Firestore) so that connected players and display screens can view the active game session. These compressed copies are session data, are overwritten each time you load a new map or prop, and are not indexed, searchable, or publicly accessible. They exist solely to facilitate live gameplay.
4.3 Copyright Responsibility: You represent and warrant that you own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, or permissions for any media you load into the Service, whether stored locally or shared with session participants. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of third-party content (including purchased map packs, fan art, or stock images) complies with the content creator's license terms. Aegis DM Toolkit does not review, moderate, or monitor user media.
4.4 No Redistribution: The Service does not make your uploaded media available to the general public. Session data is only accessible to users who have your session link or invite code. We do not sell, license, sublicense, or distribute your content to any third party.
Aegis DM Toolkit respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content shared through the Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request to our designated agent:
DMCA Agent: aegisdmtoolkit@gmail.com
Your notice must include: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) identification of the infringing material and its location within the Service, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the identified content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
The Service includes real-time multiplayer features such as the Player Companion App, TV Display Mode, and VTT (Virtual Tabletop) broadcasting. When you share a session link or invite code with other users:

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for the loss of campaign data, maps, characters, or locally stored assets. Users are strongly encouraged to keep secondary backups of their text data and local media files.
