Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Aegis DM Toolkit ("Service"). This policy supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Intended Use

Aegis DM Toolkit is designed for tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) session management, including campaign planning, combat tracking, virtual tabletop play, character management, and related creative activities. All use of the Service should be consistent with this purpose.

2. User-Uploaded Content

The Service allows you to upload, share, and transmit media content (maps, tokens, props, art, audio) within your game sessions. When uploading or sharing any content, you agree to the following:

2.1 Content You Own or Have Licensed

• You may upload original artwork, maps, and media that you created yourself.
• You may upload content for which you have purchased a valid license (e.g., map packs, token packs, stock art) provided the license permits use in virtual tabletop applications.
• You may upload content released under open or Creative Commons licenses, provided you comply with the license terms (e.g., attribution).

2.2 Content You May NOT Upload

• Pirated or stolen content: Do not upload copyrighted maps, artwork, or media that you do not own or have permission to use.
• NSFW or explicit content: Do not upload pornographic, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent material.
• Illegal content: Do not upload content that violates any applicable law, including but not limited to content depicting illegal activity, hate speech, or content that exploits minors.
• Malicious files: Do not upload executable files, scripts, malware, or any content designed to exploit, damage, or compromise the Service or other users' devices.

2.3 Session Sharing

When you share maps and props with players during a live session, compressed copies of your images are transmitted through our cloud database so session participants can view them. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content transmitted through sessions.

3. Artist's Guild

The Artist's Guild allows users to advertise their art commissions and shops. When submitting to the Artist's Guild:

• All submitted artwork must be your own original work or work you have explicit permission to advertise.
• AI-generated art is not permitted in the Artist's Guild.
• All submissions are reviewed by our moderation team before going live.
• We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission at our sole discretion.

4. Session & Multiplayer Conduct

• Do not share session invite links publicly with the intent to disrupt, grief, or vandalize another user's game.
• Do not use the Service to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Do not attempt to exploit real-time features (token movement, dice rolls, chat) to disrupt sessions.
• Do not impersonate other users, DMs, or administrators.

5. Platform Integrity

• Do not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service.
• Do not scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service.
• Do not attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, or payment systems.
• Do not use the Service to send spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited advertising (outside the Artist's Guild).
• Do not intentionally overload or stress-test the Service's infrastructure.

6. Intellectual Property

Aegis DM Toolkit respects the intellectual property rights of content creators, game publishers, and artists. We expect our users to do the same.

• Game system references (D&D, Pathfinder, etc.) are provided for compatibility under fair use. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
• If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please refer to our DMCA procedure in our Terms of Service.
• Repeat infringers may have their accounts suspended or terminated.

7. Enforcement

We reserve the right to take any of the following actions if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated this AUP:

• Remove or disable access to the offending content.
• Issue a warning to your account.
• Temporarily suspend your account.
• Permanently terminate your account without refund.
• Report the violation to law enforcement if required by law.

We are not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action, though we will make reasonable efforts to do so when appropriate.

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
